((( hugs )))

Letting go is really hard. I'm finding tons of things I know I need to let go of, and I guess I don't know how yet. Sometimes I'm just simply holding on to the pain, nursing it along.

The voice of reason must be hiding under the deck with the goat.

Ouch. Yes, you have said you are hard-headed and need someone to give you a firm tap now and then...but that's overkill! You're probably being too tough on yourself: I bet that goat took off quicker than the wag of it's tail! I have a bunny who runs from loud noise (but who can blame him with ears like that?)
Learning when to let go is a process. I doubt we are ever educated for all circumstances, as each new venture can teach us a new level of it.
When it pertains to something near and dear to our hearts, yay something so strong that it IS part of us, the very idea of "letting go" isn't rational. We tend to correlate letting go with not holding it any more. (And that does sound rational now doesn't it?)
Once we learn how to let go of the heartache, the tempestuous feelings, the fear, and all the negative surrounding it, we realize what is left is the still, small voice of reason - and that part of us that we thought we would lose in the process.
 It's still there. ((hugs))

I miss you too, and the team. :( I'm severely lacking in ability to let go, still. I keep holding on until I'm beaten into a pulp, and I still can't let go.

SeptemberMorn: LOL Debbie! Take your time and relax
eskielover: The workbook is at Life Way Christian book stores. Beth Moore Living Beyond Yourself Exploring the fruit of the spirit
recluse1: Debbie had told me about it before in pm when i asked about it
SeptemberMorn: Thanks Debbie. Sometimes I wonder about myself. LOL
Eskielover: the work book isn't required since I am presenting directly out of it, but it is a wonderful way to be able to do the readings & see what she is saying before I do
SeptemberMorn: Recluse, did you see a "code" when you posted? I did, copied it and it said I had it wrong.
SeptemberMorn: Deb, it's up to you whether you want to tell others or not.
recluse1: did that to me too at first, IDK what the prob. was
recluse1: but was ok when i went back
SeptemberMorn: HEY! I posted an announcement and was afraid it would be deleted. It's still there! WoooHoooooo!
eskielover: The series is also made up with DVDs for each week that present much more than what just the week work does...I am including a lot of that too since the workbook has an area for that which I am including too
SeptemberMorn: hmmm... i'll have to try again.
recluse1: where did you announce at Sept.?
SeptemberMorn: YAAAY! You're on the ball, Debbie!
SeptemberMorn: in General, Hon.
SeptemberMorn: Debbie, any time you want to get started, Hon.
eskielover: I would actually love to tell others because that would be wonderful to have them be able to own the information & be able to read & look ahead
SeptemberMorn: I'm saving the chat for the others.
SeptemberMorn: whatever suits you
eskielover: You have a group that you have been PM'ing about this?
SeptemberMorn: yez'm. about 15 of them
recluse1: those that answered my post in SF
recluse1: and some others
eskielover: We may want to change the time if it isn't good for others......I am flexible
SeptemberMorn: and a couple more, yeah...
SeptemberMorn: not too many answered, Deb.
SeptemberMorn: it may take a bit to get this rolling.
recluse1: i am so thankful for the work you have both done to get this going!
eskielover: I am not discouraged in the least.....it will come together....you will see....God doesn't allow opportunities like this to not turn out for his good
SeptemberMorn: I had thought about doing it but I got my wings when you suggested it. LOL
recluse1: AMEN TO THAT!
SeptemberMorn: It's not God that I doubt. It's me.
recluse1: ((((Tomi))))
recluse1: i got bus loads of faith in ya hon
SeptemberMorn: {{{{{{{{Recluse}}}}}}}}}}}} What can I say?
SeptemberMorn: thanks Hon! //33
eskielover: Do not doubt you....because God is working through you.....there is nothing to worry about
recluse1: beautifully said eskie
eskielover: I am having very slow fingers tonight
SeptemberMorn: I hope so Debbie. There are people here that don't like me.
eskielover: There are many more people who don't like God too....but that doesn't discourage him
SeptemberMorn: that's true!
recluse1: i'm getting all goose bumpy!
eskielover: we will not be liked because of what we say
SeptemberMorn: LOL
SeptemberMorn: that's true, too
SeptemberMorn: I have to set my eyes on the Lord!
eskielover: we have those little geese wondering around here...lol
recluse1: persecuted for His name sake=blessed in His name as well
SeptemberMorn: Debbie, how do you want to get started? The song or the prayer?
eskielover: the blessings that he give us for standing up for what he has given us to believe are in the future....not always now
SeptemberMorn: I'm hoping for a crown.
SeptemberMorn: but will be just as happy to be in the same place He is!
eskielover: Beautiful stone encrusted one......
SeptemberMorn: LOL
recluse1: earning one right now eskie!
SeptemberMorn: THAT I don't dare hope.

SeptemberMorn: Ok. Will do
SeptemberMorn: Heavenly Father, We thank you so much for your Spirit moving within this small group
SeptemberMorn: so that we might think of a better way to share You and your words in order to heal and become stronger followers of Christ
SeptemberMorn: Thank you for each one of us here and bless us for your word says that wherever two or more
SeptemberMorn: are gathered in His name, there You will be also
SeptemberMorn: Heavenly Father, we as You to allow us to feel your protection
SeptemberMorn: so that we can feel comfortable and safe
SeptemberMorn: to open up and study Your word freely.
SeptemberMorn: We ask you that the Holy Spirit provide us with the insight
SeptemberMorn: for understanding God's words and seeing how to apply it
SeptemberMorn: to our daily lives so that our faith will be strengthened
SeptemberMorn: through the study of His Word and that it will continue to make us stronger in our faith daily.
SeptemberMorn: We pray that you give us the strength as a group to be a good Christian support
SeptemberMorn: to each other and show the Christian love and kindness that You have for us
SeptemberMorn: to provide the support to each other what we know is needed as Christians.
SeptemberMorn: I want to pray especially that the Bible study that we have chose
SeptemberMorn: and that You have directed us to choose, which is the Fruit of the Spirit
SeptemberMorn: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
SeptemberMorn: faithfulness, gentleness and self-control expand in us so that it goes out
SeptemberMorn: to a hungry world.
SeptemberMorn: We ask you to provide the words that will give us the healing and strength that we need at this point in time
SeptemberMorn: and that the Holy Spirit will provide the necessary healing that You alone know that we need so that we can go on
SeptemberMorn: from the past hurts, learn from those experiences without dwelling on them
SeptemberMorn: in the future so that we can allow the Fruit of the Spirit to fill our lives
SeptemberMorn: and we can become the Christians that you want from Your children.
SeptemberMorn: We ask this in your son's holy name
SeptemberMorn: Amen
bebop: Amen
recluse1: Amen!
eskielover: amen
bebop: brb
eskielover: thank you Tomi....that was wonderful
recluse1: yes, ty
SeptemberMorn: thank YOU, Deb.
bebop: back. I will be in and out for a bit but here
eskielover: I know that we are all going to be blessed ....what we ask in his name...he give
eskielover: that' ok....no problem
bebop: ty
recluse1: Are we ready ladies?
eskielover: I want to start off by letting bebop also know there is a workbook that is available if interested....it was the one that the formal bible study used along with DV
bebop: yep
bebop: online?
Court_Knee entered the room.
SeptemberMorn: No, she'll tell you.
bebop: ok
eskielover: It is purchased through Lifeway Christian bookstore
SeptemberMorn: Hi, Court_Knee!
recluse1: welcome court
Court_Knee: hio
eskielover: welcom court_knee
Court_Knee: thanks
SeptemberMorn: Court, Debbie is leading us in a Bible study on the Fruit of the Spirit.
eskielover: It is by Beth Moore.....called Living Beyond Yourself.....Exploring the fruit of the spirit
Court_Knee: the fruit of the spirit not a strawberry!
Court_Knee: (its a dong)
Court_Knee: *song
bebop tells you: errrrrrrrrr
SeptemberMorn: LOL No, not a strawberry
recluse1: Much more wonderful than that!
recluse1: //0
eskielover: there are many fruits that are our fav's....but these are the ones that the Holy Spirit give us for living our daily lives
eskielover: I am going directly out of the workbook & writing the bible versus if needed just incase a bible is missing....lol
eskielover: Galatians 5:22-23
eskielover: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness
Court_Knee: yup!
Court_Knee: i know a song
Court_Knee: about them
eskielover: faithfulness, gentleness, & self-control. Against such things there is no law
Court_Knee: the fruit of the spirits not a (fruit) the fruit of the spirits not a (fruit) so if you wanna be a (fruit) you might as well hear it, you can't be a fruit of the spirit cause the fruits are love joy ppeace patience kindness goodness gentleness faithfulness and self control (repeat)
SeptemberMorn: I can already tell that I have to make some changes.
recluse1: I do as well, a lot of work yet to be done
eskielover: the focus of the bible study is to learn about, grow in & experience the work of the Holy Spirit in our life
eskielover: this is a growing process.....we will learn as we go & adapt...that is the wonderful thing about God....he works the same way with us
recluse1: thank God
Court_Knee: do you like the song lol
eskielover: Tonight I am mostly going to get into the Holy Spirit in our life because that is where the fruit come from
SeptemberMorn: I do, Court. I'd like to hear it, though.
Court_Knee: its really fun to sing
Court_Knee: we make the shape of the fruits as we sing it
Court_Knee: i learned it at camp
eskielover: Court.....love the song.....we started with a song & we can sing with you afterwards....ok?
recluse1: let’s see what we can learn from eskie for now//0
SeptemberMorn: Debbie, it's so exciting to know that the Spirit is working in us.
Court_Knee: ok sorrt
Court_Knee: sorry
recluse1: ((((((court)))))))
eskielover: John 14 is explaining about the trinity....don't know if you have the bible ....to turn to it
eskielover: Jesus is explaining to the disciples the picture of how he is to die to prepare a place for us in Heaven
recluse1: got it
SeptemberMorn: for those that don't have a Bible, you can go to BibleGateway.com and type in the Scripture.
eskielover: vs 16 - 17 tells about how he will give you another Counselor
eskielover: to be with you forever...the Spirit of truth.
eskielover: the world cannot accept him because it neither sees him nor knows him
eskielover: but you know him, for he lives with you & will be in you
eskielover: I think it's beautiful how it goes on
eskielover: in 25 & 26
recluse1: yes, me too
kelllie entered the room.
eskielover: That Christ has spoken while still with us, but the counselor, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name
eskielover: Will teach you all things & will remind you of everything I have said to you.
SeptemberMorn: Welcome Kelllie. We're having a Bible study. You're welcome to stay.
recluse1: welcome kelllie
eskielover: The Spirit give us so much insight as to the meaning
kelllie: thanks
eskielover: yes. welcome kelllie
Court_Knee: kellie!
eskielover: we are introducing the fruit of the Spirit bible study....welcome
_Sky entered the room.
eskielover: hi Sky....welcome
recluse1: hi sky
_Sky has left the room.
eskielover: The foundational truth that
_Sky entered the room.
_Sky: am I not welcomed?
bebop: hi
eskielover: you are welcome
recluse1: yes welcome
_Sky: I prefer to leave on my own then. Yall tc
_Sky has left the room.
recluse1: Huh?
recluse1: go ahead eskie...
eskielover: Christ in us only guarantees life in heaven
recluse1: amen'
Court_Knee: what the heck
eskielover: but Christ in us grants the invitation to live beyond ourselves on earth....it's not all about heaven....but we need to be able to have a wonderful life here
eskielover: Psalm 27:13
eskielover: says I am still confident of this
eskielover: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living
eskielover: also John 10:10
eskielover: .....I have come that they may have life & have it to the full
SeptemberMorn: KJV says "in abundance" I like that
eskielover: What God give us through Christ & the Holy Spirit is the ability to LIVE Beyond YOURSELF
eskielover: Living....the importance of this study is how relevant it is in our lives
recluse1: so excited to learn more about it
eskielover: we need to have relevance in our lives now
eskielover: To be filled with the Holy Spirit fills us with the fruit of the Spirit
eskielover: that doesn't just change our life....IT CHANGES OUR DAY
SeptemberMorn: It really does!
eskielover: it sure does doesn't it
eskielover: thinking about our purpose in life.....my purpose is beyond me
eskielover: 2 Cor 5:5
eskielover: Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose
SeptemberMorn: WOW! That hits home!
bebop: I think we all spend our lives wondering what our purpose is.
eskielover: & has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come
eskielover: I know I do
eskielover: The spirit helps us with that
eskielover: My circumstances are often beyond me
eskielover: 2 Cor 1:8-9
eskielover: We don't want you to be uninformed about the hardships
eskielover: we suffered under great pressure far beyond our ability
eskielover: to endure so that we despaired even of life
eskielover: (this was when they were preaching about Christ)
eskielover: But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves
eskielover: but on God, who raises the dead
eskielover: I think for me, the hardships that God gives me are at the time when I am thinking it's all about me
recluse1: i agree
SeptemberMorn: I can relate to that!
recluse1: it's when I take my eyes from Him that I fall
SeptemberMorn: exactly! and boy are my knees bruised!
eskielover: Then there are the daily demands that are beyond me
eskielover: Colossians 1:29
eskielover: To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy which so powerfully works in me
eskielover: Everything that is part of our life requires so much that without God, we can't possibly do what is needed
eskielover: Then comes YOURSELF....the powerful misery-maker
eskielover: we tend to be self -absorbed & living inside of ourselves with all the demands on us
SeptemberMorn: OUCH It's true.
recluse1: yes, i guess we do
eskielover: Mat 23:25 is beautiful
eskielover: gives hope but takes work....lol
eskielover: Woe to you.......clean the outside of the cup & dish but inside is full of greed & self-indulgence
eskielover: clean the inside & then the outside will be clean
SeptemberMorn: You're talking about a couple people I know, Deb
recluse1: that applies to everything in our lives...I like that
eskielover: I know it's amazing when I come to some of that inside stuff, the outside shapes up.....
eskielover: yes, it does apply to everything
eskielover: With the Spirit, we become free at last
eskielover: our Goal:
eskielover: 1) find genuine freedom
eskielover: 2) freedom that only comes through a life filled with the Holy Spirit
eskielover: It is that lie that displays the character traits called the fruit of the Spirit
eskielover: (that's where this is all heading to is that study)
eskielover: 3) discover that the character of Jesus can be a reality in the life
eskielover: if an EVERYDAY believer
SeptemberMorn: Debbie may I interrupt?
eskielover: sure
SeptemberMorn: you typed "it is t hat lie" did you mean life?
eskielover: I'm looking
SeptemberMorn: under #2
eskielover: yes, It's that life
SeptemberMorn: good! ok.
eskielover: not a good typo there...oops
SeptemberMorn: LOL I understand "typo"
eskielover: not a Freudian slip by any means
SeptemberMorn: LOL
eskielover: 4) Understanding the fruit of the Spirit & issues involved in living in the Spirit
eskielover: 5)...the tough one
SeptemberMorn: Ut Oh!
eskielover: let Christ have access to those places inside us
SeptemberMorn: Oh...
eskielover: we have problems with & need changing & give him permission to come inside
eskielover: 6)....our key as Christians.....to resist Satan’s hard fight & attempts to discourage us
SeptemberMorn: THAT is the tough one for me.
eskielover: These are all the challenges ahead
recluse1: easy to read...harder to apply
eskielover: When I went through this Bible study starting in Feb....I was really at a place where this was needed
recluse1: i am at that place myself right now. so this is an answered prayer for me
SeptemberMorn: I feel I need it now. Too much of what you have said ... IDK... rings a bell or something.
recluse1: I thank God for bringing us all together for this!
eskielover: I know for me....this is wonderful because I didn't get enough out of it he first time
SeptemberMorn: He had a purpose when the SF got changed
eskielover: I know that God has placed this here for a definite reason
Court_Knee has left the room.
recluse1: took me a while...but yes, i see that now
SeptemberMorn: took me a while, too.
eskielover: I think that also......it seems that he works that way......things change....then he provides the seeds of ideas to make the changes he really wants
SeptemberMorn: something (I wonder who??) kept nudging me onward, though.
recluse1: Holy Spirit at work......
eskielover: the Spirit.....is a good nudger
SeptemberMorn: through you, Recluse.
recluse1: Awww
eskielover: That is the beauty of the Spirit....he knows all the players & puts the pieces together
SeptemberMorn: I had the same idea, but hadn't done anything with it until you posted
SeptemberMorn: Isn't it wonderful??
recluse1: yes, wonderful!
SeptemberMorn: Deb, you had been sharing about this Bible study
eskielover: Yes, it was tough because I was sharing then I couldn't
bebop is currently away.
eskielover: I couldn't keep in inside
recluse1: but you shared enough to inspire us with it!
SeptemberMorn: now we know why
recluse1: Amen
SeptemberMorn: that's for sure!
eskielover: But it wasn't silenced thanks to you all
SeptemberMorn: Thank God you couldn't keep it inside. LOL
recluse1: thank you for being open enough to be His vessel!
SeptemberMorn: Do we have any prayer requests?
SeptemberMorn: I do.
eskielover: The timing was good because I didn't know what was going on, so I was able to say
eskielover: I think this is a good time for prayer requests.
SeptemberMorn: God's perfect timing!
recluse1: YAY!
SeptemberMorn: I'm going to be very open, okay?
recluse1: ok
eskielover: ok
SeptemberMorn: Sky and I got into it pretty heavy when she came back from vacation to the point that I had to put her on ignore. You saw what happened tonight. I'm sure she feels that I kicked her out. I DID NOT! She must have gotten booted.
SeptemberMorn: I think she needs this study and I think s he needs our prayers.
recluse1: i will pray
eskielover: I saw she was welcomed by 2 of us before she left....don't think she saw our welcome
SeptemberMorn: One more request. My hubby needs our prayers, too. He's too busy living life inside himself.
eskielover: I will invite her back
recluse1: got it sept
eskielover: I too have a similar prayer request
SeptemberMorn: ty, Debbie
recluse1: ok
SeptemberMorn: ok
eskielover: about my husband
eskielover: He has been living his life totally inside of himself & needs to come to terms with allowing the Spirit into his life
SeptemberMorn: understood
recluse1: making a list..
SeptemberMorn: we are married to similar men, Debbie
SeptemberMorn: Recluse, I'm sending out this chat, Hon.
recluse1: ok
recluse1: i also have a request please..
SeptemberMorn: ok
eskielover: ok
recluse1: i would like for you to pray for my family and I. We are in the midst of a great struggle spiritually and financially. please pray for us to find the answers we seek.
SeptemberMorn: you've got it, Hon. HUGS
eskielover: yes...you have my prayers
recluse1: (((((((hugs to all))))))) this has been wonderful. thank you all for being here!
SeptemberMorn:
SeptemberMorn: thank God for us. Is that kosher? LOL
eskielover: This has been wonderful....if there are any suggestions I would love to hear...it's hard doing bible study this way
SeptemberMorn: thank God for this group. There!
recluse1: i think you did wonderful eskie
recluse1: i was wondering how this would work.
SeptemberMorn: Eskie, you might ask Sky if she managed to do macros w hen she did her chats.
eskielover: God is blessing us together....we need each others support & this is wonderful to have it here
recluse1: but you did very well
SeptemberMorn: Yes, you did!
SeptemberMorn: but I understand how hard it is just from doing the prayer. LOL
eskielover: I will ask her about that
SeptemberMorn: Debbie, if you want to dismiss us with a blessing? I didn't find it or get it done.
recluse1: i will pm her also so she knows she is welcome here, ok.
eskielover: I only got about 1/2 through what was for tonight
eskielover: no we haven't done that yet
SeptemberMorn: yes, do, Recluse.
SeptemberMorn: LOL I can imagine, Debbie.
eskielover: we can close with the blessing & then we can chat
SeptemberMorn: As long as Sky doesn't try to correct or argue with Debbie, she'll be fine.
SeptemberMorn: Ok
recluse1: it will be fine
SeptemberMorn: Debbie, if you will?
eskielover: Sure:
eskielover: The Lord Bless you & keep you
eskielover: The Lord Make his face to shine upon you & give you peace
eskielover: May we go in peace through this week
SeptemberMorn: Amen
eskielover: & be blessed through out our daily lives
eskielover: amen
SeptemberMorn: thank you Debbie. //33
recluse1: amen and amen

SeptemberMorn: We ask this in your son’s holy name
SeptemberMorn: Amen
eskielover: It is by Beth Moore…..called Living Beyond Yourself…..Exploring the fruit of the spirit
Court_Knee: the fruit of the spirit not a strawberry!
Court_Knee: (its a dong)
bebop tells you: errrrrrrrrr
SeptemberMorn: LOL No, not a strawberry
recluse1: Much more wonderful than that!
recluse1: //0
eskielover: there are many fruits that are our fav’s….but these are the ones that the Holy Spirit give us for living our daily lives
eskielover: I am going directly out of the workbook & writing the bible versus if needed just incase a bible is missing….lol
eskielover: Galatians 5:22-23
eskielover: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness
Court_Knee: yup!
Court_Knee: i know a song
Court_Knee: about them
eskielover: faithfulness, gentleness, & self-control. Against such things there is no law
Court_Knee: the fruit of the spirits not a (fruit) the fruit of the spirits not a (fruit) so if you wanna be a (fruit) you might as well hear it, you can’t be a fruit of the spirit cause the fruits are love joy ppeace patience kindness goodness gentleness faithfulness and self control (repeat)
SeptemberMorn: I can already tell that I have to make some changes.
recluse1: I do as well, a lot of work yet to be done
eskielover: the focus of the bible study is to learn about, grow in & experience the work of the Holy Spirit in our life
eskielover: this is a growing process…..we will learn as we go & adapt…that is the wonderful thing about God….he works the same way with us
recluse1: thank God
Court_Knee: do you like the song lol
eskielover: Tonight I am mostly going to get into the Holy Spirit in our life because that is where the fruit come from
SeptemberMorn: I do, Court. I’d like to hear it, though.
Court_Knee: its really fun to sing
Court_Knee: we make the shape of the fruits as we sing it
Court_Knee: i learned it at camp
eskielover: Court…..love the song…..we started with a song & we can sing with you afterwards….ok?
recluse1: let’s see what we can learn from eskie for now//0
eskielover: Jesus is explaining to the disciples the picture of how he is to die to prepare a place for us in Heaven
recluse1: got it
SeptemberMorn: for those that don’t have a Bible, you can go to BibleGateway.com and type in the Scripture.
eskielover: vs 16 - 17 tells about how he will give you another Counselor
eskielover: to be with you forever…the Spirit of truth.
eskielover: the world cannot accept him because it neither sees him nor knows him
eskielover: but you know him, for he lives with you & will be in you
eskielover: I think it’s beautiful how it goes on
eskielover: in 25 & 26
recluse1: yes, me too
kelllie entered the room.
eskielover: That Christ has spoken while still with us, but the counselor, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name
eskielover: Christ in us only guarantees life in heaven
recluse1: amen’
Court_Knee: what the heck
eskielover: but Christ in us grants the invitation to live beyond ourselves on earth….it’s not all about heaven….but we need to be able to have a wonderful life here
eskielover: Psalm 27:13
eskielover: says I am still confident of this
eskielover: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living
eskielover: also John 10:10
eskielover: …..I have come that they may have life & have it to the full
SeptemberMorn: KJV says “in abundance” I like that
eskielover: What God give us through Christ & the Holy Spirit is the ability to LIVE Beyond YOURSELF
eskielover: Living….the importance of this study is how relevant it is in our lives
recluse1: so excited to learn more about it
eskielover: we need to have relevance in our lives now
eskielover: To be filled with the Holy Spirit fills us with the fruit of the Spirit
eskielover: that doesn’t just change our life….IT CHANGES OUR DAY
SeptemberMorn: It really does!
eskielover: it sure does doesn’t it
eskielover: thinking about our purpose in life…..my purpose is beyond me
eskielover: 2 Cor 5:5
eskielover: Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose
SeptemberMorn: WOW! That hits home!
bebop: I think we all spend our lives wondering what our purpose is.
eskielover: & has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come
eskielover: I know I do
eskielover: The spirit helps us with that
eskielover: My circumstances are often beyond me
eskielover: 2 Cor 1:8-9
eskielover: We don’t want you to be uninformed about the hardships
eskielover: we suffered under great pressure far beyond our ability
eskielover: to endure so that we despaired even of life
eskielover: (this was when they were preaching about Christ)
eskielover: But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves
eskielover: but on God, who raises the dead
eskielover: I think for me, the hardships that God gives me are at the time when I am thinking it’s all about me
recluse1: i agree
SeptemberMorn: I can relate to that!
recluse1: it’s when I take my eyes from Him that I fall
SeptemberMorn: exactly! and boy are my knees bruised!
eskielover: Then there are the daily demands that are beyond me
eskielover: Colossians 1:29
eskielover: To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy which so powerfully works in me
eskielover: Everything that is part of our life requires so much that without God, we can’t possibly do what is needed
eskielover: Then comes YOURSELF….the powerful misery-maker
eskielover: we tend to be self -absorbed & living inside of ourselves with all the demands on us
SeptemberMorn: OUCH It’s true.
recluse1: yes, i guess we do
eskielover: Mat 23:25 is beautiful
eskielover: gives hope but takes work….lol
eskielover: Woe to you…….clean the outside of the cup & dish but inside is full of greed & self-indulgence
eskielover: clean the inside & then the outside will be clean
SeptemberMorn: You’re talking about a couple people I know, Deb
recluse1: that applies to everything in our lives…I like that
eskielover: I know it’s amazing when I come to some of that inside stuff, the outside shapes up…..
eskielover: yes, it does apply to everything
eskielover: With the Spirit, we become free at last
eskielover: our Goal:
eskielover: 1) find genuine freedom
eskielover: 2) freedom that only comes through a life filled with the Holy Spirit
eskielover: It is that lie that displays the character traits called the fruit of the Spirit
eskielover: (that’s where this is all heading to is that study)
eskielover: 3) discover that the character of Jesus can be a reality in the life
eskielover: if an EVERYDAY believer
SeptemberMorn: Debbie may I interrupt?
eskielover: sure
SeptemberMorn: you typed “it is t hat lie” did you mean life?
eskielover: I’m looking
SeptemberMorn: under #2
eskielover: yes, It’s that life
SeptemberMorn: good! ok.
eskielover: not a good typo there…oops
SeptemberMorn: LOL I understand “typo”
eskielover: not a Freudian slip by any means
SeptemberMorn: LOL
eskielover: 4) Understanding the fruit of the Spirit & issues involved in living in the Spirit
eskielover: 5)…the tough one
SeptemberMorn: Ut Oh!
eskielover: let Christ have access to those places inside us
SeptemberMorn: Oh…
eskielover: we have problems with & need changing & give him permission to come inside
eskielover: 6)….our key as Christians…..to resist Satan’s hard fight & attempts to discourage us
SeptemberMorn: THAT is the tough one for me.
eskielover: These are all the challenges ahead
recluse1: easy to read…harder to apply
eskielover: When I went through this Bible study starting in Feb….I was really at a place where this was needed
recluse1: i am at that place myself right now. so this is an answered prayer for me
SeptemberMorn: I feel I need it now. Too much of what you have said … IDK… rings a bell or something.
recluse1: I thank God for bringing us all together for this!
eskielover: I know for me….this is wonderful because I didn’t get enough out of it he first time
SeptemberMorn: He had a purpose when the SF got changed
eskielover: I know that God has placed this here for a definite reason
Court_Knee has left the room.
recluse1: took me a while…but yes, i see that now
SeptemberMorn: took me a while, too.
eskielover: I think that also……it seems that he works that way……things change….then he provides the seeds of ideas to make the changes he really wants
SeptemberMorn: something (I wonder who??) kept nudging me onward, though.
recluse1: Holy Spirit at work……
eskielover: the Spirit…..is a good nudger
SeptemberMorn: through you, Recluse.
recluse1: Awww
eskielover: That is the beauty of the Spirit….he knows all the players & puts the pieces together
SeptemberMorn: I had the same idea, but hadn’t done anything with it until you posted
SeptemberMorn: Isn’t it wonderful??
recluse1: yes, wonderful!
SeptemberMorn: Deb, you had been sharing about this Bible study
eskielover: Yes, it was tough because I was sharing then I couldn’t
bebop is currently away.
eskielover: I couldn’t keep in inside
recluse1: but you shared enough to inspire us with it!
SeptemberMorn: now we know why
recluse1: Amen
SeptemberMorn: that’s for sure!
eskielover: But it wasn’t silenced thanks to you all
SeptemberMorn: Thank God you couldn’t keep it inside. LOL
recluse1: thank you for being open enough to be His vessel!
SeptemberMorn: Do we have any prayer requests?
SeptemberMorn: I do.
eskielover: The timing was good because I didn’t know what was going on, so I was able to say
eskielover: I think this is a good time for prayer requests.
SeptemberMorn: God’s perfect timing!
recluse1: YAY!
SeptemberMorn: I’m going to be very open, okay?
recluse1: ok
eskielover: ok
SeptemberMorn: Sky and I got into it pretty heavy when she came back from vacation to the point that I had to put her on ignore. You saw what happened tonight. I’m sure she feels that I kicked her out. I DID NOT! She must have gotten booted.
SeptemberMorn: I think she needs this study and I think s he needs our prayers.
recluse1: i will pray
eskielover: I saw she was welcomed by 2 of us before she left….don’t think she saw our welcome
SeptemberMorn: One more request. My hubby needs our prayers, too. He’s too busy living life inside himself.
eskielover: I will invite her back
recluse1: got it sept
eskielover: I too have a similar prayer request
SeptemberMorn: ty, Debbie
recluse1: ok
SeptemberMorn: ok
eskielover: about my husband
eskielover: He has been living his life totally inside of himself & needs to come to terms with allowing the Spirit into his life
SeptemberMorn: understood
recluse1: making a list..
SeptemberMorn: we are married to similar men, Debbie
SeptemberMorn: Recluse, I’m sending out this chat, Hon.
recluse1: ok
recluse1: i also have a request please..
SeptemberMorn: ok
eskielover: ok
recluse1: i would like for you to pray for my family and I. We are in the midst of a great struggle spiritually and financially. please pray for us to find the answers we seek.
SeptemberMorn: you’ve got it, Hon. HUGS
eskielover: yes…you have my prayers
recluse1: (((((((hugs to all))))))) this has been wonderful. thank you all for being here!
SeptemberMorn:
SeptemberMorn: thank God for us. Is that kosher? LOL
eskielover: This has been wonderful….if there are any suggestions I would love to hear…it’s hard doing bible study this way
SeptemberMorn: thank God for this group. There!
recluse1: i think you did wonderful eskie
recluse1: i was wondering how this would work.
SeptemberMorn: Eskie, you might ask Sky if she managed to do macros w hen she did her chats.
eskielover: God is blessing us together….we need each others support & this is wonderful to have it here
recluse1: but you did very well
SeptemberMorn: Yes, you did!
SeptemberMorn: but I understand how hard it is just from doing the prayer. LOL
eskielover: I will ask her about that
SeptemberMorn: Debbie, if you want to dismiss us with a blessing? I didn’t find it or get it done.
recluse1: i will pm her also so she knows she is welcome here, ok.
eskielover: I only got about 1/2 through what was for tonight
eskielover: no we haven’t done that yet
SeptemberMorn: yes, do, Recluse.
SeptemberMorn: LOL I can imagine, Debbie.
eskielover: we can close with the blessing & then we can chat
SeptemberMorn: As long as Sky doesn’t try to correct or argue with Debbie, she’ll be fine.
SeptemberMorn: Ok
recluse1: it will be fine
SeptemberMorn: Debbie, if you will?
eskielover: Sure:
eskielover: The Lord Bless you & keep you
eskielover: The Lord Make his face to shine upon you & give you peace
eskielover: May we go in peace through this week
SeptemberMorn: Amen
eskielover: & be blessed through out our daily lives
eskielover: amen
SeptemberMorn: thank you Debbie. //33
recluse1: amen and amen

Any votes on what to call the group, regardless of where we put it? I'm hoping to be open to all, so my votes is for something not necessarily Christian. One idea I had was "Together in Faith." What other suggestions do any of you have?

Let's talk a little about pros and cons for where to set up the group. With Yahoo groups it's easy to include a lot of people and allow them to post new threads or reply easily. Subscribers can get messages by email or read them at Yahoo if they go there and sign in. I've been involved with several yahoo groups, but haven't set one up myself. I understand that some things are a pain in the neck about them. They do sell subscriber's email addresses to spammers. They also consider whoever starts a group to be the owner of that group, and nobody else can make major changes. One Yahoo group I'm on, the "owner" died. She had left a moderator, and the group is still running, but there is no way to move it someplace else, elect a new administrator, etc. (and the group is for a guild and has the guild's name, which nobody wants to abandon).

I'm leaning, myself, towards a multi-author blog, like this one, except not belonging to one person. I was asked about having pages for different denominations. If authors of threads just assign a category to each post, then although on the main page posts will be displayed chronologically, you can also click on any category and see only those posts. You can assign multiple categories to a post, so it will show up on each of those pages. Then you can read what you want to read. Try it here and see how that works. I can go ahead and set up a multi-author blog and you guys can tell me what you think. To add authors, I need an email address. And I'm not sure the name can be changed after setting it up.

One more thing: unless someone changed a setting for me, it appears that once I've approved a comment from someone, they can comment and it shows up immediately. So waiting for approval may not be as much of an issue as I thought.

I would be more than happy to venture with you guys/gals with a yahoo group. I am eager to do all I can, anywhere I can! I realize some can't chat on the other site so I think it would be nice to have another place where they could participate as well.

If this is arranged, please let me know.

As a metaphor, an invalidating environment is powerful. To mirror and support a child's real experiences is essential, with out even considering mental illness. I've been reading Pema Chodron says "If we just try to get rid of negative feelings, we don't realize that those feelings are our wisdom." How do we fill children's lives with many people, some who can't hear them, and more who can? What can we do to move the walls of separation so we can have more love?
